We don’t normally consider Southwest crab cakes with chipotle yogurt dressing fast food. (Especially when they taste good.)

We were proven wrong by Licious Living, a successful low-calorie, nutritious meal delivery service that just opened its first retail store and café in the downtown business core. The healthy, fresh and delicious meals are ready to grab-n-go, or we can chow down in the cozy café without paying much more than food-court fare (meals range from $8 - $12). We love the free-range turkey bacon, egg white and tomato breakfast wrap ($6.99) with a low-fat cheddar adding guilt-free-zing. The hot entree of wild salmon with tomato salsa ($10.79) will get us through any work-late nights, and a chocolate protein Monkey Smoothie ($4-6) will kill any craving, any time of day.

Two different portion sizes for each meal are available – over or under 500 calories – and each is labelled with fat, protein and carb counts, too.

Fast and good for us? It’s like having our smoothie, and drinking it too.
